Gift from a friend....A little shopping...Partial finish

So I have been working my little fingers to the bone.
After getting my daughter off on her first service trip with her school, my house is quiet.
She made her first trip, without us.
She is in Costa Rica.
My dear daughter is in an Engineering Academy
at her high school.
She and 8 other students, along with 3 of her
teachers went to Costa Rica to set up what is called a
"Maker Space" in one of their local schools.
This is a lab where the kids will have access to a
3D printer, laser cutter, drone and a bunch of
other stuff that I can't remember.
They are spending 2 weeks there.  The students
are responsible for showing the kids in
Costa Rica how to operate all these devices.
They also were able to stay with chosen families
from the school for 2 days, to immerse the
students into Costa Rican life.
They will be visiting beaches, hiking, zip lining,
restaurants,etc.
She sent a picture of a steak that was bigger
than my husbands' head.  The look on my husbands'
face was priceless.  Jealous of his daughter.

Onward.........

I have another finish (partial).  I need to add borders, maybe some wool applique...Not sure yet.  Here is:
It is much longer than in the picture.
Fall Favorites

This next one is
School Daze.

I am almost done with the embroidery for this one.
Both should be done and up on Etsy by next week.

Here is a little something I found at Hobby Lobby.
 I could not resist.

And lastly, I would like to say a big "THANK YOU" to
Mrs. "C".
She gifted me this subscription from the Fat Quarter Shop.

The first box came last month.
Of course I knew I had not ordered anything.
But we all know that we order things and forget that we ordered them.  So, I opened the box and here are the contents:

Fabrics from Lori Holt-Bee in My Bonnet,
a ruler, ribbon and thread holder.
Of course there was no note.
I was ready to send it back.
So I called Fat Quarter Shop, gave them my information.,
She looked me up and behold.
She advised me it was a gift subscription from Mrs. "C".

What a wonderful surprise that someone would think of me in such a way.  So THANK YOU MRS. "C".
You are a dear friend that I cherish.

Here is this months' box:

A pair of scissors (I am a scissor horder),
wonder clips, seam ripper and a jelly roll.

I have heard many good things about the wonder clips.  So I will use them and let you know what i think.

I will have more pictures in my next post of my trip to Tennesse.

Have a wonderful weekend filled with needlework!!!

BLOCK 7 & New Quilt

This should have been up this morning!!!
Sorry...here is Block 7.

Also, my quilt, Mrs. Mayflower made
her debut in the Fall issue of
Primitive Quilts and Projects.
The center is wool applique on cotton.
You can applique cotton on cotton, if you prefer.

As you can see, my kids had more important
things to do, than hold my quilt for a picture.
I kept hearing faint voices saying,
"Hurry up mom.  My arms hurt."
It was probably their thumbs hurting,
not from holding the quilt, but from texting.
Anyway,
I have received copies and would like
to give a couple away.
Please leave a comment and I will draw
a name on Monday.

Thank you all for all of your support.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!
